The Norwegian Centre for E-health Research visits Badalona Serveis Assistencials
On October 19, a delegation of various Nordic institutions made a visit to Badalona Serveis Assistencial (BSA) and, more specifically, to “El Carme” social health centre to gain a first-hand knowledge of the model used in BSA for the integration of health services.
BSA has a long history in the provision of health services in a comprehensive manner, covering from primary care to specialized, socio-health and even domiciliary care, and is recognized as a global leader in the way that information technologies are used to provide and ensure continuity of care.
Given its extensive experience and prestige in this field, a delegation composed of 17 professionals from the National Centre for eHealth Reserch of Norway and other Nordic institutions and companies (SINTEF Digital, Norwegian Directorate of eHealth, Imatis, University of Copenhagen, University of Agder, Tromsø Municipality and Risør Municipality) visited Catalonia to promote the exchange of knowledge between these organizations and BSA, the Open University of Catalonia and the Catalan Health Department.
In the framework of this visit, we presented the activities that we are carrying out within the UOC-BSA Chair, focused on the application of Data Analytics and Big Data technologies to solve real problems in the health field and promote a process of cultural change in BSA towards a data-oriented organization that emphasizes the use of information and its analysis as an instrument for decision making.
